Eagle in stylised shape, leaning forward, large feet and beak, with wings pressed back. Mottled orange colouring in the stone. Stone quarried near Alnwick in Northumberland.
The colouring of the stone and the block itself guided this piece, but it came about due to feeling concern about the conservation status and the declining numbers of eagles in the wild.
